FAMILY FINANCE / 02Prelaunch application

NestBudget

A shared picture of the family budget.

A family budgeting project with transactions, category limits, recurring bills, savings goals, and household collaboration. A separate Expo mobile app shares financial logic with the web app.

The problem

Households need to understand spending and upcoming bills while keeping shared information consistent across members and devices.

The implementation

Integer-cent calculations, household roles, and version checks support accurate calculations and prevent simultaneous saves from silently replacing each other. Native sign-in uses a separate bearer-token API and secure device storage.

Evidence in the repository

Financial test cases cover month and currency boundaries, duplicate bill payments, recurring dates, and savings calculations.

Web and mobile code are in the repository. The documentation describes a deployed web backend and a prelaunch product; public App Store or Google Play availability has not been verified.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS / 03Development project

Kap Services

From public website to staff workspace.

A service website and protected business workspace connecting enquiry intake, staff assignments, content management, follow-ups, and invoice records.

Next.jsTypeScriptPostgreSQLVitest
Explore the engineering

The problem

A service business needs a clear public experience and an organized process for handling each customer request.

The implementation

Role-aware staff navigation is backed by server permission checks. Requests are saved before notifications are attempted. Invoice workflows track partial payments and preserve a history of corrections.

Evidence in the repository

Invoice tests cover decimal rounding, invalid input, monetary limits, and protection against client-supplied totals.

Invoice records track business activity; they do not themselves charge cards or transfer money.

COMMUNITY / 04In development

Hatlangh Beh

Family history meets community.

A private community and genealogy platform bringing family trees, heritage, social posts, messaging, and one-to-one voice and video calling into one experience.

Next.jsPrismaSocket.IOWebRTC
Explore the engineering

The problem

Family history and everyday community life are often kept in separate places. Bringing them together also requires careful control of personal information.

The implementation

Server-side audience checks govern profiles and content. Genealogy corrections use a review process and an audit trail. Messaging uses Socket.IO, with WebRTC for one-to-one calls.

Evidence in the repository

Privacy tests check field-level visibility, restrictions on minors’ records, and matching database filters.

Development genealogy is sample data. Production calling, storage, and scaling require additional configuration.

Source code is private. These summaries are based on repository documentation and selected test files reviewed in November 2026. The project test suites were not rerun as part of this portfolio review.

02 / ENGINEERING THREADS

The details that matter.

Across these projects, the focus goes beyond the screen to the rules that make a system useful.

01

Connect the workflow.

Follow the whole task: a work order becomes a site visit; time and parts become a job cost; a request becomes a follow-up.

See KapCore
02

Respect the boundaries.

Separate households, organizations, and roles. Make access decisions on the server, where the data lives.

See Hatlangh Beh
03

Check the edge cases.

Pay attention to duplicate actions, conflicting updates, month boundaries, and money calculations.

03 / ABOUT KAP

A practical perspective.

Security service technician.
Software project builder.

Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I’m interested in the connection between physical systems and the software people use to manage them. My projects explore practical tools for technicians, businesses, families, and communities.

For an employer or collaborator, this portfolio is a starting point for a conversation about the problems, architecture, and development work behind each project.
